With only 212 days left until October 14, everyone is talking about ICD-10-CM. The implementation of ICD-10 is a monumental change to how we do business. That being said-there are other changes starting on this day.
Many of us are forgetting that the OASIS-C will be changing to OASIS-C1 in response to the changes need for the ICD-10-CM implementation.
In preparation for ICD-10-CM, the Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN) has released new guidance on the new OASIS-C 1 version. The document is titled Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society’s Guidance on OASIS-C1 Integumentary Items: Best Practice for Clinicians. This document can be downloaded from the WOCN site at OASIS-C1 guidance.
In addition, the OASIS-C1 draft can be downloaded from the CMS website.
Until next time,
