The Association of Homecare Coding & Compliance (AHCC) is working hard to ensure ICD-10-CM/PCS implementation. Let’s join with AHCC in standing up for ICD-10!
AHCC stands up to U.S. Congress to reinforce the importance of ICD-10 implementation!
The Association of Homecare Coding & Compliance (AHCC) and its credentialing body, Board of Medical Specialty Coding & Compliance (BMSC) took a stand with the Coalition for ICD-10 and other healthcare industry stakeholders, to encourage and reiterate to U.S. Congress the importance of allowing the ICD-10 implementation to happen on October 1, 2015, the date established by the CMS.
On behalf of the AHCC homecare community, Corinne Kuypers-Denlinger, DecisionHealth VP, Post-Acute Care Product Group, and the AHCC and BMSC boards presented a detailed letter expressing concern and potential impact on the community if ICD-10 is not implemented as planned. “Yet another delay would have far-reaching consequences. Already billions have been spent… to ready the healthcare infrastructure for the transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 with no return on that investment.” says Kuypers-Denlinger.
We’d like to share this dynamic and insightful argument to maintain the ICD-10 implementation timeline established by CMS, in a detailed memo that was presented to the U.S. Congress. Click here to review the memo. And, as always, please visit the AHCC website for your professional guidance, certification, and best practices needs at https://ahcc.decisionhealth.com/.
Additional information and updates will be shared, when available, as we continue to advocate and prepare for ICD-10 implementation.
